Veterans are paying close attention the tight race in the Brandon-Souris federal by-election.

Dozens of young workers recently attended a series of meetings hosted by the PSAC Prairie Region, aimed at bringing young workers together to strategize on the establishment of young workers committees.

At the 2012 PSAC National Convention, delegates approved a resolution to create regional young worker committees that would be open to members 30 years of age and under. Young workers submitted this resolution, after identifying the need for a place within the PSAC for young people.

Nearly 600 participants at the National Equity Conferences kicked off the week with a commitment to political action in the fight for human rights and to preserve the right to fair collective bargaining.

Thousands of PSAC members from across the Prairie Region joined our telephone town hall last week on Bill C-4, the government's latest omnibus budget bill that will dramatically change health and safety laws for workers under federal jurisdiction. It represents a fundamental shift that will make federal workplaces more dangerous, and make it more difficult for workers to refuse dangerous work

On November 7 the PSAC Prairie Region hosted a telephone town hall with thousands of PSAC members across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. 

Thousands of PSAC members across the Prairies joined the live and interactive telephone town hall about the government's latest omnibus budget bill, Bill C-4, which proposes to radically change our rights as federal public service workers.

PSAC members are working with veterans to urge MPs to stop the closures.
