Updates

In November, we held the first Young Workers in Action course in Edmonton with 20 course participants from across the Prairie Region. The 3.5 day course covered a variety of topics including labour history, the PSAC structure, unions and oppression, communications, planning for the future and more.

PSAC Members Supporting Children’s Education

In 2010, 33 boxes of schools supplies were collected and donated to Winnipeg School Division #1, where they were distributed to 40 of 70 schools.  As well, through the generous donations of PSAC members, two inner-city lunch programs were sponsored. 

The PSAC Calgary Women's Committee, Calgary Area Council and Calgary Human Rights Committee participated in the 2nd Annual Calgary and District Labour Council's Labour Day Barbeque. PSAC was well represented at the event with a labour history display and information booth, which was always busy with members answering questions, talking about the importance of unions in today's world & signing the Canada Post petition. Over 2200 hamburgers and hotdogs were served to Calgarians in attendance.
