Participants will identify existing knowledge of labour history by recognizing prior involvement in labour history including past victories. An introduction of inclusive workers history will further deepen our understanding of labour history. Participants will explore current labour movement campaigns to develop strategies to protect and strengthen our historical gains.

This conference brings together entire Local Executives to meet and learn from one another. Participants will explore their roles and responsibilities, look at alternatives to the traditional union meeting format, and make plans for their union Local for the next year.

Participants will increase their knowledge about the protections afforded through the WFAA (Workforce Adjustment Agreement). Build links to other union resources which can be of assistance. Participants will also build awareness and support for PSAC actions to fight cuts to services and jobs.

A safe and healthy workplace is a basic union worker right. This course will encourage members to ensure we have secure workplaces. Participants will start with their own knowledge of their work, and workplaces, and will critically examine the risks and responsibilities of workers and employers, including the notion of “worker carelessness”.
