Lethbridge, AB – The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) will host a free public screening of We Are Wisconsin to highlight the similarities between the 2012 Wisconsin struggle for labour rights and the challenges facing workers in Canada today. PSAC National President Robyn Benson will be in Lethbridge to introduce the film, speak about the parallels, and answer questions after the film.

Hundreds of childcare activists gathered in Winnipeg November 13-15 for the ChildCare2020 National Conference. Among them were a delegation of PSAC members, including Prairies REVP Marianne Hladun and three Prairies activists.

Last month, regional offices throughout the Prairies held Activist Schools for PSAC members who are active in their union, eager to build workplace power and interested in doing political and social activism work.Dozens of activists participated in the training aimed at giving activists the tools and skills they need to support political and social activism, as well as prepare them to have meaningful, effective and motivating conversations with co-workers.

Dear PSAC member:On October 22, Winnipeggers will head to the polls to elect a new mayor and city council that will oversee our city’s priorities and growth over the next four years.As with every election, we encourage our members to educate themselves on the candidates and the issues, and ultimately to exercise their democratic right on Election Day and vote.

When Yvonne Hein heard about Tony Clement's plan to take away accumulated sick leave benefits from federal public service workers, the PSAC/Agriculture Union member decided to let her MP know exactly how she felt about it. She wrote the following letter to Shelley Glover, Member of Parliament for Saint Boniface in Winnipeg. She has yet to receive a response.

The Parliamentary Committee studying Bill C-525 spent just three hours hearing from witnesses and asking them questions about changes to three federal labour laws that will affect over a million workers.
