The Saskatchewan provincial election is scheduled for April 4, 2016 and the Manitoba provincial election is scheduled for April 19, 2016. PSAC Area Councils have already begun planning mobilization efforts and actions around provincial elections. To get involved, please contact the PSAC regional office closest to you to be added to the e-mail list and find out about upcoming meetings.

The PSAC Prairie Region held a webinar on May 13, 2015 to discuss the Budget Implementation Act (Bill C-59), which authorizes Treasury Board to modify collective agreements to remove sick leave and impose a short and long term disability plan outside of collective agreements.

The PSAC Prairie Region held a webinar on April 8, 2015 to discuss the political rights of PSAC members and the different ways to get involved in the upcoming federal election, while staying within employer policies. Valentine's Day is a time to express your feelings and let the people in your life know what you think of them. So for PSAC members in Southern Alberta, the first person on their Valentine's list this year was Prime Minister Stephen Harper––and the message was anything but loving.

Dozens of people attended the free public screening of We Are Wisconsin at the Lethbridge Public Library on January 21, including PSAC members and the general public. The free screening was hosted by the PSAC Lethbridge and District Area Council to highlight the similarities between the 2012 Wisconsin struggle for labour rights and the challenges facing workers in Canada today. PSAC National President Robyn Benson was in attendence to introduce the film, speak about the parallels, and answer questions after the film.
