A new report released today details the significant impacts the Harper Conservatives inflicted on the prairies while in power.

The Saskatchewan provincial election is scheduled for April 4, 2016 and the Manitoba provincial election is scheduled for April 19, 2016. PSAC Area Councils have already begun planning mobilization efforts and actions around provincial elections. To get involved, please contact the PSAC regional office closest to you to be added to the e-mail list and find out about upcoming meetings.

The Edmonton Area Council would like to invite all PSAC members to join them at their next meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2015 @5:30 p.m. at the Edmonton Regional Office. The PSAC Prairie Region held a webinar on May 13, 2015 to discuss the Budget Implementation Act (Bill C-59), which authorizes Treasury Board to modify collective agreements to remove sick leave and impose a short and long term disability plan outside of collective agreements.

The May 19th Day of Action will focus on communicating and contacting federal MPs as they are back in their home riding for the week of May 19 – 22, 2015.

On March 19, join with your colleagues to support our common campaign for healthy workplaces. Together, members of all federal public service unions will show that we want healthier workplaces and better public service for all Canadians.

Valentine's Day is a time to express your feelings and let the people in your life know what you think of them. So for PSAC members in Southern Alberta, the first person on their Valentine's list this year was Prime Minister Stephen Harper––and the message was anything but loving.  

Dozens of people attended the free public screening of We Are Wisconsin at the Lethbridge Public Library on January 21, including PSAC members and the general public. The free screening was hosted by the PSAC Lethbridge and District Area Council to highlight the similarities between the 2012 Wisconsin struggle for labour rights and the challenges facing workers in Canada today. PSAC National President Robyn Benson was in attendence to introduce the film, speak about the parallels, and answer questions after the film.
