Members of Our Union Family,

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted in 1948. International Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10 in recognition of this achievement and to promote further action to advance human rights around the world.

This year marks 30 years since a tragic attack took the lives of 14 young women on December 6, 1989 at the École Polythechnique de Montréal. It was an act of hate.

Those lives which were cut short must never be forgotten and their memory must push us to action. PSAC Prairies commits to doing our part in building a better world where women and girls can live free from the fear of violence. Our union is determined to keep fighting for this vision.

The unions representing Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) employees are demanding immediate action to address abuse of authority and harassment by management at the agency.

2019 is the 20th anniversary of the first Trans Day of Remembrance, which began in 1999.  Each year on November 20th we remember trans, two-spirit and non-binary people who have lost their lives. We mourn and grieve together, and acknowledge our responsibility to end all violence against trans people.
