From September 23-24, 2014, PSAC welcomed 22 members from various Separate Employer Locals and Directly Chartered Locals for the Prairies Separate Employers Conference in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Over 6000 PSAC members are employed in contact centre work environments. They are in traditional call centres, multi media contact centres and customer service centres.  Some members make calls from home and their working conditions often are very similar to those in traditional call centres.

Canada Post had advised PSAC that their initial expectation of completing the pay equity payments by December 2014 was an optimistic forecast. So far they have given no new timeframe but PSAC expects the payments will continue well in 2015.

More than 60 union leaders from across the Prairie Region gathered in Regina over the weekend to discuss priorities for our union and strategize for the coming year. The Prairies Summit opened on Saturday with greetings from Marianne Hladun, Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President.
