Updates

With all the recent changes in health and safety, it’s a great time to reflect on some of the issues PSAC has been pushing forward. For some, this may be new information. For others, it will be a review or an inspiration to keep pushing forward to ensure our members return home safe and healthy.

 

On August 6, we embarked on an 18-day road trip from Edmonton to Winnipeg with one purpose: to collect as many stories as possible from PSAC members throughout the Prairie Region.

The Canadian Labour Congress released a study this week to show just how much better the union advantage truly is. This study shows that on average in Canada, unionized workers earn almost $5 more an hour than non-union workers.

PSAC members who were denied an alternation may get a second chance at finding one under the terms of a grievance settlement reached this week with Treasury Board

The Canadian Child Care Federation writes an open letter to the Council of the Federation regarding the urgent concern about Canada’s child care situation.

Alternation allows people who have been declared “opting” as a result of Work Force Adjustment to switch places (or alternate with) another employee who is willing to leave the public service.
