Updates

The Idle No More movement continues to gain momentum, with events held across the country on a regular basis, consistent coverage from major media outlets, and growing support from the public. In Saskatchewan, PSAC members united with activists from other unions and community groups to participate in Idle No More rallies and marches.

Rob Clarke, the Conservative MP for Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River, has been silent on Parks Canada's decision to stop grooming ski trails in Prince Albert National Park, and we've taken notice. Marianne Hladun, Regional Executive Vice-President for the PSAC Prairie Region, wrote him a letter to voice her concerns.

It's been a busy year, but even tireless activists need a break. I encourage you to make the most of what's left of 2012 by spending time with loved ones and making time for rest and relaxation. On behalf of the Prairie Region Council, I wish you and your family all the best this holiday season. I look forward to continuing our work together in the new year.

On October 31, 2012, the Joint Learning Program (JLP) reached 2,000 workshops delivered. This represents over 40,000 participants from over 50 organizations, around 4,000 organizers, and 4,000 opportunities of facilitation.

On behalf of the membership of the Public Service Alliance of Canada I today am urging you to meet immediately with Chief Theresa Spence of the Attawapiskat First Nation.
