Updates

The Prairie Region Council Education Committee has begun the process of developing the 2013 - 2015 Prairies Regional Education plan. We are gathering ideas and input from members across the region in a variety of ways:

Membership Survey - open to all PSAC Prairies members. The survey takes about five minutes to complete, and each completed survey will be entered into a draw for a GREAT PRIZE (two prizes awarded in each province). The survey closes November 30 and the draw for prizes will take place December 12.

On October 25, 2012, members of the NDP caucus will be wearing a purple ribbon in solidarity with public sector workers affected by the recent cuts to jobs and public services. This initiative originated with a PSAC member, and we encourage Prairies members to join in and wear a purple ribbon to demonstrate that we are all affected by the cuts, and we oppose them.

As part of the Regional Office Team, the Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative services that enable the Regional Office to fulfill its role in a timely and credible manner.

Robyn Benson knows her work is cut out for her. She’s a grassroots public service union activist from Winnipeg who cut her teeth in a famous wildcat strike in 1980. Last May, Benson was elected national president of the 186,000-member Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

The proposed sale of community pastures in Saskatchewan is supported by virtually no one in the province or the country and today’s announcement by the provincial government raises more questions than it provides answers, according to the Agriculture Union – PSAC which has launched a campaign to protect the prairie grasslands in question.

The PSAC is pleased to offer a new advanced course for Union representatives:
