The PSAC Prairie region is pleased to offer the Unionism on Turtle Island course December 12-16, 2015 at the PSAC Edmonton Regional Office.

Over the past few weeks, PSAC has been working hard to connect with union and community members to highlight the most important issues of the federal election campaign.

Attendance: Nancy Johnson (UTE), Jacque Maurice (UTE), Lois Lafond (UTE), Nicole Wurm (AGR)

This course is for PSAC union representatives (stewards, local officers, etc.) who have: training on and experience with representing members generally; and training on and experience with presenting a grievance during a hearing/meeting with the employer.

The Saskatoon and District Labour Council sponsors the “Summer Snack Program” to feed lunch to inner city children during the summer.  These children are provided with lunches during the school year but unfortunately, many of them are left to fend for themselves during the summer.  For some children, these lunches are their only daily meal.  The Summer Snack program relies on donations of food from local businesses and the gift of time from kind hearted volunteers.
