As the tax filing deadline quickly approaches, we know that Phoenix has made tax season extra stressful for many public service workers. PSAC has long-secured measures to help alleviate some of the tax-related financial losses caused by Phoenix pay problems.

Dear Minister Hussen, Last week (January 24, 2019), you announced a new pilot program to “enable smaller communities to enhance their economic, social and demographic vitality.” If your government is a friend to rural Canada, it will come as a complete surprise to our members.

The rally yesterday in Lethbridge was very well attended by approximately 40-50 people. Even the wind was on our side making sure the flags from AGR, CIU, UTE, PSAC, CUPW and many other of our allies flew high! We also had some PIPSC, students and APSAR members attend. The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is launching a national television ad campaign to highlight the dedication of public service workers throughout the Phoenix pay system disaster, which has now been going on for two and a half years. 

On the heart-breaking final week for employees of the Vegreville Case Processing Centre (CPC), the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has won an important but bittersweet victory for our members.
