The Calgary Day of Action was held at Sandy Beach Park and was attended by many PSAC members, allies, and families. On September 15 the Public Service Alliance of Canada held a National Day of Action from coast to coast to coast. PSAC members, community advocates and concerned citizens alike gathered together at various events across the Prairies to celebrate the public services they value most. These services are being jeopardized or damaged by the ongoing federal cuts. We are ALL affected by the cuts to federal services and jobs imposed by the Conservative government.

PSAC members in Winnipeg invited the community to an event at Memorial Park with local entertainment, face painting for the kids and free refreshments. Attendees signed the 100 ft. banner to let Steven Harper know how cuts to public services have affected our communities. Robyn Benson, PSAC National President, spoke on the impact of the cuts and the importance of protecting public services for all Canadians. Click any photo to view the entire Winnipeg Day of Action photo album. For the Sept. 15 National Day of Action in Edmonton, PSAC members held a family BBQ with kids' activities including face painting, balloons and tattoos, colouring centre and treat bags, and family activities like three-legged races, potato sac races, and scavenger hunt. PSAC members in Saskatoon held a pancake breakfast for the Sept. 15 National Day of Action, with proceeds going to the Saskatoon United Way. Over one hundred people attended the Employment Insurance (EI) forums in Winnipeg on September 6 and Brandon on September 5, 2012.

September 15, 2012 is PSAC's National Day of Action with special events happening throughout the Prairie Region and across the country to highlight the We Are ALL Affected campaign.Join community members, labour organizations, public service workers and their families for a national day of action to protest cuts made to  federal responsibilities such as food inspection, Old Age Security, the environment, parks, health care, search and rescue, assistance to our veterans, border security and transportation safety.

 Prairies REVP Marianne Hladun wrote a follow up letter to Saskatoon-Humboldt MP Brad Trost regarding the Conservative government's conflicting actions around human trafficking after the original letter from July 3, 2012 was ignored.

As the Parks Canada staff cuts hit, officials in the mountain parks are moving ahead with plans to privatize the operation of three of its most iconic attractions: the hot pools in Banff, Jasper and Radium, B.C.
