May long weekend wass the start of solidarity activities for national groups that are currently in negotiations, including members from; Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Boarder Services (FB), Parks, and Technical Services (TC).
A series of public consultations organized by the New Democratic Party will give Canadians a voice on the changes that will come with the adoption of the government’s omnibus budget implementation bill, C-38. There is currently only one meeting scheduled within the Prairie Region:
PSAC Prairies members were out full force on May 1, 2012, along with over 800 delegates and observers to the PSAC 16th National Trienniel Convention, to take to the streets to stop the cuts for the May Day Solidarity Against Austerity rally in Ottawa.
Please email me directly with any information you have about how the cuts will be rolled out, when they will be rolled out, and who will be affected in your workplaces, now and as the weeks progress.
PSAC members from across the prairies kept a close eye on the federal budget on March 29 to assess the impact it will have on working families in our communities and services Canadians rely on.
On March 22, PSAC members attended a rally in support and solidarity with members from the International International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Union (IAM). Standing together for quality public services, PSAC and IAM members said "No!" to the government cuts and slashing of public services.
The National Day of Action was a huge success with hundreds of members from worksites all over the Prairie Region standing together in solidarity over the noon hour.I'd like to thank all of the locals for participating in this important action. I so admire the courage and persistence of all of the Sisters and Brothers who wore a sticker, waved a flag, or put on a black arm band, and collectively rallied together to take a stand against the damaging austerity agenda of this government.
Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada are taking to the streets, throughout the Prairies and across Canada, in protest of the Conservative government’s austerity agenda. At noon today, March 1, PSAC members will stand together in front of their workplaces to rally against the slashing of public services.
Members across the Prairie Region will be taking action outside their workplaces on March 1 and demonstrating their solidarity. The locations listed below are the major rally sites with speakers.
