Fatal Deception, a recently aired CBC documentary, looks into the asbestos industry and the harmful health effects of the mineral. It highlights how the industry and government have been lying to Canadians. The documentary asks, "Is the federal government relying on junk science to justify its support for re-opening asbestos mines in Quebec?"

We are well into our new national public engagement campaign, the Third Choice Campaign, and public reception has been very positive to date. The first two films have accumulated more than 86,000 views on YouTube and our Facebook community continues to grow. We've also just released our latest video on search and rescue.

PSAC negotiators reached a tentative agreement with NAV Canada January 27. The 300 PSAC members covered by the agreement will vote on the collective agreement between February 6 and February 23, 2012.

As part of the Education is a Right campaign students have been meeting with Members of Parliament and Senators, collecting petitions, organising provincial campaigns and will now take to the streets on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in a national student day of action. View the events happening in the Prairie Region.

On February 1, students across the country will be mobilizing in support of quality, accessible post-secondary education.
