We are deeply concerned by the ongoing forest fire in Fort McMurray, Alberta. There are no reported deaths or major injuries as of this moment. We have communicated with elected PSAC union representatives in the region to check on the safety of our members in the area.

On April 28 people across Canada stop to remember workers killed, injured or disabled on the job. During the 2015 Prairie Region Health & Safety Conference, PSAC Prairies members were treated to a rousing and informative keynote speech by Dr. Leigh Quesnel of HQS Consulting Services on the topic of "Towards a Healthy Workplace: Understanding Psychological Harassment and Bullying."  Dr. Quesnel specializes in such areas as workplace wellness, creating respectful workplaces, managing bullying and psycholgical harassment, and stress management, among others.

The 2015 Prairie Region Health & Safety Conference was held November 21-22, 2015 in Winnipeg with over 60 PSAC members in attendance from across the Prairies.

The 2015 PSAC Prairie Region Health and Safety Conference will be held November 21 - 22 in Winnipeg. The overall theme will deal with the current challenges in dealing with employers, with particular attention to the roles of Workplace Health and Safety Committees, and the challenges faced by committee members. 

This webinar will build on the information discussed during the evening health and safety information sessions in several locations last fall. It will also allow members to ask questions about workplace health and safety concerns, such as mental health in the workplace, ergonomics, building a health and safety network and further training.
