On July 18, the National Board of Directors made a decision to hold a cross-country day of action this fall on Saturday, September 15, 2012. Activities for the September 15th cross-country day of action will be organized in every PSAC region, and will be coordinated through the PSAC's Regional Offices.

Since the federal budget was tabled on March 29, 2012, 16,873 PSAC members in 44 federal government departments and agencies have been told they could lose their jobs.

Harper’s Conservative government has implemented changes that impact important services that Canadians rely on in areas such as health care, food safety, environmental protection, human rights, arts, research and science.

On July 31, 2012, Marianne Hladun, Regional Executive Vice-President of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (Prairie Region) submitted a response to the Consultation Paper on the Renewal of Labour Legislation in Saskatchewan

Marianne Hladun, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for the Prairie Region, joined approximately 80 AUPE members on the picket line this morning at the Revera Riverbend Retirement Residence.

Practical nurses, health-care aides and support staff at Revera Riverbend have been on strike for nearly seven weeks. In a letter, PSAC National Vice-President Chris Aylward, urged owners to get back to the bargaining table and called for "a quick resolution to this labour dispute."

Sister Marianne Hladun, Alternate REVP Prairies, became REVP for the Prairies following Sister Benson's election as the PSAC National President.  Therefore, we need to hold elections for the Alternate Regional Executive Vice-President for the Prairie Region. 

The following election procedures will be followed: 

On June 18, 2012, Border Services Officers in Coutts, Alberta wore green “I Support My Bargaining Team” shoelaces, as well as “Security OUR Priority” stickers as a show of solidarity for the CIU bargaining team going back to the bargaining table from June 18 - 20.
